Our History
NorMont Equipment Co. was established in 1947, when four partners from Billings, Montana, purchased Hi-Line Equipment Company in Great Falls and rebranded it under the NorMont name. In 1958, the company moved into a newly built facility in nearby Black Eagle, where it continued to grow under family ownership for several decades. Then in 2015, NorMont entered a new chapter when Abernathey Holdings, LLC acquired the business — a turning point that brought fresh investment and a renewed commitment to expanding the company's capabilities and reach. Building on nearly 70 years of history, the new ownership recognized what NorMont had built and set out to take it further. Today, that momentum continues, with significant growth underway and plans to double in size in the coming years.
